The Craft
Every Autum Goose piece passes through the same three stages. Nothing is rushed, and very little is made at once.
1 · The Painting
It starts on paper. Each landscape — a snowfield, a meadow at first light, a range of distant hills — is hand-painted, then set aside and reworked until the colour and the quiet feel right.
2 · The Glaze
The finished artwork is carried onto high-fired ceramic and sealed beneath a smooth, food-safe glaze. The glaze is what keeps the colours true through years of morning coffee and late-night tea.
3 · The Kiln
Fired, cooled, and checked by hand. Only the pieces that come out clean and even join the collection; the rest go back to the beginning.
